DVD COVERS

In this post going to talk about the similarities between the following Dvd Covers

All Dvd covers (above) feature the title of the film, giving the audience the most important information of all, the name of the film. The covers all share a constant theme in terms of colour, in The Thing, a colour Blue and White is used in give off a Sci-fi feeling, the exorcist uses The (shadowy) black and (yellowish) white to connote it's genre, same as in Nosferatu, and in Se7en, they used The deep yellow colour with black shades in the background, highlighting the Deadly sins in yellow text.

Another thing which all the covers have in common is that they all have a dominant component within the cover which grabs the audiences' attention, in The Thing the figure of the man in the Eskimo suit is the component which caught the Audience's attention, because back when the film was released, there was very little, if not any, horror films were based in the Antartic, in the Exorcist, the very artistic composition and shadow is all that was needed, in Nosterafu, the Picture of Max Schreck (Nosterafu) is the Stimulates the interest of the audience, especially at the time the film was released (which was 1922), and Se7en, you might think that it's the 2 photo's of the 2 Oscar Nominated actors that grabs the Audiences attention, and if you thought that, you might be right, the actual 7 sins listed in a bullet point manner in the middle of the cover doesn't do alot to interest alot of  people, although it's clever in a way so it doesn't give out alot of information about what you're about to see, the 2 notable faces on the cover is what the Dvd sales "Bank'd" upon as they knew the 2 were quite bankable at the time (still now).
